Fox News Latino, the bastion of fair-and-balanced journalism (LOL) is asking readers of its hot & spicy new Web site to help them name a political party should Latinos were to form their own party. Should it be the Salsa Party? The Cafe Party? or The Tequila Party?
Here is the poll as they published it this week… and I swear I’m not making it up, even though, I have my own very well kept opinions about these individuals.
As for myself, I’m going to abstain from voting. As you all know by now, I am an active member of the Grand Old Enchilada Party.

You obviously didn’t read the article in which this poll question was from. The answers weren’t plucked out of the air, they were legit options brought up by sources in the reporting. I can’t understand how you constantly rip on fox news, including a website like foxnewslatino.com–which from the looks of it is doing a good job in showcasing more news about latinos than BBC, AOL Latino etc. in a balanced way. I don’t get how you can harp on foxnews for being bias when you obviously are letting your own biases towards the news company cloud your opinions on legit and fair articles. Criticizing is great…but come on nit picking to find something that goes with your Bias is a joke.
Thanks JRodriguez for your comment, and for visiting my blog. I am sure you understand the difference between a blog (like this one, where I can be “biased” and “criticize”) and an objective news source, something I am sure Fox News Latino strives to be.
There is a CLEAR line between blogging and journalism and this is sacred to me; so when I make jokes and ‘nit pick’ at someone or something in this blog it is purely opinionated and not based on any serious reporting, which I also know how to do.
I don’t mind a 3rd party or 20. But the names make no sense. I think it all started with the Las Vegas Sun article. We aren’t just Mexican or Puerto Rican or Cuban or El Salvadoran etc. Nor are we all brown. Heck we can’t even agree on Hispanic or Latino, can you imagine trying to come up with name that actually works? Of course it is our diversity that is our strength.
And I think Laura does a wonderful job at keeping her blog and professional journalism apart. I personally cherish her sarcasm and humor.
Aztlán but you can keep Texas and Arizona.
