What’s His Face Likes Latinos, Leaves ‘Little’ Tips and Such

What's His Face wants to be President of the U.S.
What’s His Face want’s to be U.S. President

I never thought I had to pay attention to the campaign of What’s His Face. But then he had to say something about my people (i.e. the Hispanics or — like Emilio Estefan would have you believe, ALL THE MEXICANS).

And what did he say, exactly? Well, according to the Los Angeles Times, in the words of What’s His Face himself:

“A lot of them do jobs that they’re willing to do and, uh, that’s why in the hotel you leave a little tip.”

I would have been happier if he said he leaves my people medium — or large — tips, but that’s OK. What he doesn’t know is that this Mexican has a HUGE TIP for him:

Keep Calm And Your Mouth Shut.

You are welcome

Jeb Celebrates Hispanic Heritage with Spanish-Language Ad Featuring ‘Abuelas’, Anchor Babies

Hispanic Heritage Month campaign ad features -- what else?-- an abuela.
Jeb Bush’ Hispanic Heritage Month campaign ad features — what else?– an abuela.

While a bunch of prominent Latinos are getting ready to sing about their Mexicanness — in English — a prominent self-appointed Latino, Jeb Bush, is affirming his Americanness with a one-minute campaign advertisement in an almost spotless Spanish.

In a brand new spot — released just in time for Hispandering Heritage Month — Spanish-speaking Jeb! says “we” (apparently meaning Americans and Mexicans) all have the same interests and share the same feelings, and he also takes the opportunity to share some pretty pics of his anchor Mexican-American children.

Todos somos americanos also features a rare appearance from his wife of 41 years, Columba, not Columbia, nor Colombia, who is from Mexico.

Aspiring Mexican Mayor Uses Batmobile to Campaign Around

¡Santas elecciones, Batman!
¡Santas elecciones, Batman!

Awwww, Mexico…

The land of the collective smooch, the coold cocnuts and the 1-million-dollar birthday parties is also the World’s Headquarters of innovative political initiatives.

Take Valentín González, aspiring Mayor of Netzahualcóyotl, who decided it was an awesome idea to drive around the impoverished municipality in his own Batmobile. Why? Simple, because it is the only way to fight crime and stuff so he can get elected and all that.

Per the campaign itself:

“The campaign will be accompanied by our emblem, which we decided to be a Batmobile, simply because in order to reach the Mayor’s Office we’ll have to fight criminals who for a long time have disturbed the peace of our citizens.”

¡Santas elecciones, Valentín!

H is for ‘Hispanics:’ Hillary Really Wants your [Hispanic] Vote

CCei08ZWAAASEm-

Hillary Clinton, aka the wife of the non-inhaler former President of the United States, on Sunday formally announced her second run for the White House. But she did it in the most millennial fashion: through a digital blitz in English — and Spanish — portraying herself as a champion of everyday Americans.

“La Clinton” even posted her now archfamous tweet in a so-so Spanish, in which she claims she wants to be el defensor [SIC] and not “la defensora” of the American people.

I’m not sure if I need Hillary as my defensor or defensora for anything, but I’m pretty damn sure she’s way a better alternative than this guy and certainly this other one.

Awww, if only I could vote…

Hispanic Jeb Bush Is the Best Thing on Twitter Right Now

Unless you live under a rock, in a detention center in Guantánamo or in a place without access to Twitter (very unlikely), you would have heard by now that Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush once identified himself as Hispanic in a voter registration application.

50804272According to a Miami-Dade County document published Monday by The New York Times, Bush listed his race/ethnicity as “Hispanic,” in a 2009 voter-registration application, a fact that quickly spread over social media, giving way to some hilarious tweets, starting with Hispanic Jeb Bush himself.

The incident quickly gave way to the creation of the YebBush Twitter account, which promptly began interacting with this blogger.

I say we should cut this guy some slack. He speaks fluent Spanish. His wife, Columba (NOT Columbia) Bush, was born in Mexico and for two years in his 20s, he lived in Venezuela… Besides, his Spanish is WAY better than that of many “Hispanics” I know. I promise.

Let the Hispandering Begin. Ted Cruz Launches Ad in Spanish

Canadian immigrant to run for U.S. President

The anti-immigration, anti-gay, climate-change denier, Canadian immigrant Christian (aka Ted Cruz) today confirmed he will be running for President in 2016, which is like sad, since I don’t think he is even remotely aware he has a zero chance of going anywhere with that.

Still, that has not deterred Cruz from launching a Spanish-language campaign, Ted Cruz para Presidente, highlighting his own condition as immigrant and pretty much making us believe his story is just exactly like the story of all immigrants in this country.

Yeah, right…

Oh, and by the way, if he is so proud of his origin, how come he is not himself addressing potential voters in Spanish?

Turns Out Barack Obama Drives Us, Latinas, Crazy!

I know most mainstream media outlets would frown upon the very idea of posting the below video to illustrate this story. But… this blogger couldn’t help making a connection between Wilfrido Vargas’ famous anthem and the recent figures showing Latino women political preferences…

According to a poll published today by impreMedia and Latino Decisions

“Latina voters plan to vote for President Obama by a margin of 74% to 21% for Romney – a 53 point gap.  Among Latino men, 61% plan to vote for Obama and 32% for Romney…”

Ay, Dios mío, pass me the abanico, pronto!

Romney is NOT Mexican, But He Wouldn’t Mind Univision Spreading the Word Out

As everybody knows by now, Univision’s Jorge Ramos this week sat down with both Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney to discuss some issues relevant to the Latino voter, for example, when and how are they going to bomb Cuba and kill the Castros.

However, this blogger’s favorite moment came when Romney denied being Mexican-American, but yet asked Ramos to spread the word out, thinking that little “white lie” would get him ahead among the Latino electorate.

You don’t believe me? Just watch!

Mitt Romney Cares for Hispanic Voters. Visits Conchita Foods to Prove It

Only one thing is more pathetic than a politician campaigning for votes: A Republican politician courting U.S. Hispanic voters.

Watch Romey as he visits South Florida’s Conchita Foods to receive the endorsement of three Cuban-American GOP heavyweights (Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Mario Diaz-Balart and his brother Lincoln Diaz-Balart).

The four amigos might not be in agreement on hot-topic issues like immigration, but I’m sure they all agree Conchita Foods offers some delicious frijoles negros and dry lentejas.

Deeelish!
